Madison County Arts Council

About Us

The Madison County Arts Council is a community based nonprofit cultural organization that provides services and resources to artists and organizations and presents and produces culturally diverse programming for the public. We promote the arts at the local level, endeavoring to make them a part of the daily fabric of community living.

Our Area

We are surrounded by unparalleled beauty, which provides the backdrop for a wide variety of artist, craftspeople and community events. As the only broad based arts organization in our county, MCAC not only hosts numerous events and festivals but also serves as a clearinghouse of information on all arts within our county.

The Madison County Arts Council presents an exhibition of musical instrument makers from the Western North Carolina region. The show will feature electric and acoustic instruments from a variety of makers. There will be well known instruments such as guitars and banjos, and more exotic creations such as hurdy gurdies and ring modulators. In addition, there will be displays of oddities and esoteric examples of musical instruments from around the world. On opening night, many of the makers will be on hand to demonstrate and explain their craftsmanship.

The opening for the show will be held on Friday, July 10th from 6-9 pm. This will be in conjunction with Marshall’s French Broad Friday art celebration. The show will take place at the Arts Center gallery, located at 90 S Main St in Downtown Marshall.
