Lucretia Speas- Painter, Mosaicist and Singer

Lucretia was trained in the visual arts and has a MFA in Painting from UNC-G. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the US and in Europe,  and in public collections at Duke University and The University of Wisconsin at Madison in the Multicultural Center. In 2011, she was chosen by Exploring TOSCA , an art and culture magazine in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, as NC Artist of the Year. She studied mosaic in Italy and has been in  international juried competitions for mosaic. In 2008, she installed her 42 square foot granite and marble mosaic in a private residence on the Hauraki Gulf near Auckland, New Zealand. She is currently one of seven artists at Riverside Studios in Asheville’s River Arts District, and some of her work can be seen at:
